! Murcia today – Andalusia’s incidence rate increases by almost 50 points in 48 hours; Covid July 19 Update

The situation is worsening in Andalusia and five more deaths have been reported in Malaga, Cadiz and Cordoba

The most recent Covid update in Andalucia, containing combined data from Sunday (July 18) and Monday (July 19), signals further increase in cases; 4,103 in the last 48 hours.

That combined figure is the highest in the past four months, when the region began reporting Sunday and Monday figures together.

Of the 4,103 new cases, 1,509 were in Malaga, 602 in Cadiz, 539 in Seville, 336 in Almería, 315 in Cordoba, 291 in Granada, 272 in Huelva and 239 in Jaén.

The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 population over the past 14 days is also on the rise and now stands at 398.5, while last Friday (July 16) the reported figure was 351.15.

In total, 287 municipalities in Andalusia have a cumulative incidence rate greater than 250, placing these areas in the extreme risk zone. This is a 53% increase since last week and Granada is the province with the most municipalities in the extreme risk area.

Hospitalizations: Since the last update, 13 more people have been admitted to hospital with coronavirus, bringing the total number of patients to 712, including 149 in intensive care.

Recoveries: the total number of people cured of Covid in the region is 607,032; 1,136 in the last 48 hours.

Death: five other people unfortunately lost their lives to Covid, bringing the total number of deaths to 10,263. Two of the deaths took place in Cadiz, two in Malaga and one in Cordoba.
