Man dies of 24-hour ordeal after being rescued from San Roque ditch
The man dies of his 24-hour ordeal after being rescued alive from a ditch in San Roque Torreguadiaro.
A 49-year-old man died Monday July 19 in San Roque after being first rescued alive from a ditch he had been trapped in since the night before.
Sources from the Cádiz province firefighters consortium said the man was a resident of Jerez de la Frontera and a resident of the town of Sanroqueña, located in central Torreguadiaro.
The canal is located at the entrance to Torreguadiaro, behind a gas station, and the man was trapped there, 1.5 meters deep, the water reaching his chest.
While firefighters and emergency services arrived on the scene, the Guardia Civil had already tried, unsuccessfully, to get the man out of the ditch, in which he had been trapped since the previous night.
Firefighters managed to get him out alive and he was immediately taken by ambulance to San Enrique de Guadiaro health center, where he underwent cardiac resuscitation, but unfortunately doctors were unable to save his life. .
