Cava Discovery Week returns for its second edition in New York

NEW YORK, October 5, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Cava Discovery Week in the United States will start on saturday 9 october, kicking off a series of weeklong celebrations for wine lovers to sample a range of premium Cavas to some of that of New York most famous restaurants and bars.

Of saturday 9 october To Sunday 17th October, locations across New York City including Casa Mono & Bar Jamòn, Huertas, Contento, Francie, Mercado Petite Spain, Veranda, Tomiño Taberna Gallega, Boro6 Wine Bar, Despaña Soho and Gary’s Wine & Marketplace – will join a US-wide campaign to champion the high quality of cava and demonstrate its great versatility when paired with food. For nine consecutive days, these partner restaurants will offer a varied selection of cavas for diners to try by the glass as well as exciting suggestions for culinary pairings to offer new tasting experiences. While cava is well suited to Spanish and Mediterranean menus, the program will also introduce new ideas for culinary pairings with unexpected cuisines that are not typically associated with Spanish or sparkling wine.

This is the second edition of Cava Discovery Week in the United States, designed to educate wine lovers about Cava and highlight the versatility of this quality Spanish sparkling wine.

In addition to these special internal promotions, social media contests, giveaways and online events will provide opportunities for cava lovers across the United States to engage and learn, including:

Produced by the traditional method from indigenous Spanish grape varieties, the cava is available in a variety of styles: young, fresh Cava from Guarda, with a bottle aging of at least 9 months, as well as a complex and aromatically intense Cava de Guarda Superior, which includes Reserva, Gran Reserva and the prestigious Cava de Paraje Calificado, produced from vines in a specially selected location and aged for a minimum of 36 months. In all the Cavas, regardless of the style, the traditional production method confers complexity and finesse, while the unique indigenous grapes used, such as Macabeo, Parellada and Xarello, associated with the Mediterranean influence, bring aromas and immaculate and vibrant flavors.
